So Many REI Courses

Let's look at a few REI courses that are available:

#1. Carlton Sheets

#2. Robert Allen

#3. John Beck

#4. Robert Kiyosaki

#5. Ron Legrand

REI Courses - Robert Allen

I have purchased either the material or been to the seminar of some of these real estate investing gurus. I can honestly say that Robert Allen's No Money Down information was helpful for me. It provided a much-needed analysis, in addition to giving me a solid understanding of various techniques used for investing in real estate. Robert Allen's material was one of the primary introductory materials I had into the realm of real estate investing. Like so many others, I was drawn to it by the lure of making money with no money down. Of course you eventually learn that by using creative real estate investing techniques, it's not that there is no money down in the deal, it's just that it's none of YOUR money down. You are strategically using OPM, other people's money.

I've also been to a couple Robert Allen sponsored seminars. These recent seminars were extremely good. I received so much new information. It really stressed upon me the importance of constantly keeping abreast of the field. Real estate is a dynamic that you must stay on top of whether you are trying to get in or are already in. These seminars were free and I'd recommend them to everyone. Just one piece of information from the seminars netted me $2,994. It was one of those "I didn't know you could do that" types of information. So, I proceeded to try it and almost $3K was the result. That was definitely worth the gas money to drive to Palm Springs for a weekend.

REI Courses - Robert Kiyosaki

I've also been to a couple seminars by Kiyosaki. One seminar in which Kiyosaki was a speaker was the annual Wealth Building Seminar in Los Angeles. This seminar also featured Trump and Russell Simmons. Interestingly enough, my favorite speaker was actually Tony Robbins, who gave an outstanding motivational lecture about the power of doing and action.

Later in one of the break-out sessions, I briefly spoke to Kiyosaki and I was able to share with him that my son learned how to add by playing his Cash Flow game. I think Kiyosaki adds a definitively unique perspective as reflected in his foundation book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". His investing material, in my humble opinion, is geared to get people to snap out of archaic ways of understanding and thinking about money. And for this, I think his material is good. However, in attending one of his seminars that I won a ticket to, I was surprised at his manner of speaking to people. He called people "Losers" and even made an "L" with his thumb and pointer finger, held up to his forehead. I couldn't believe that people who had paid $4,999 to hear him speak stood for him to insult them. So, even though I can value the message, the messenger seems to need some more lessons from Rich Dad.

REI Courses - Carlton Sheets

A friend of mine, Cynthia, purchased the Carlton Sheets material many years ago. I briefly looked through it and asked her if it was beneficial for her. She thought the material was extensive and informational. I found the information to be general which was good because at the time I was new into the real estate investing arena. I had a couple of properties but had not tried multiple techniques for investing. The Carlton Sheets material offered new techniques to investigate and try.

I honestly have not purchased any material from Ron Legrand or John Beck REI Courses so I cannot venture an opinion about their information and would not want to mislead anyone since I have no personal interaction. However, I have done a cursory look at their information strictly from an internet search perspective. Since my opinion is no greater in value than your own, I won't seek to offer it since you can do the same search. Again, I am no expert. I am just seeking to share my experience in this area of real estate investing.

Other Good Books

Other information I enjoyed reading, although not from REI Courses, was the Millionaire Mindset, the Millionaire Next Door, and the Millionaire Real Estate Investor. Since I am an avid reader, I tend to think that most books can offer a gem of knowledge, perspective shift, or motivation. Thus, I can glean something good from most books I read.

When it comes to investing in real estate, I believe you should have as many tools in your closet as you possibly can. Sometimes those tools are actual investing techniques, strategies or tips as I offer on my site. Other times, those tools can be the right mindset or a piece of motivation and support.
